Keith T. Shaw, known as Grizz or Justgrizz, is an Jamaican-American Music Producer. Born in Miami and raised in Ft.Lauderdale, Florida, JustGrizz works mainly in Hip-Hop, Dancehall and Afrobeats. 

 

He was introduced to music production in the early 90's and started engineering just 5 years later. This led him to work in H&N Studios, Ocean Drive Studios, and Frontier Studios. 

 

His inspirations for dancehall production were Dave and Tony Kelly, King Jammie, Sly and Robbie, Steely and Clive and others. As for Hip Hop, his inspirations are Pete Rock, Large Professor, Ski-Beats, Havoc, Premier, J Dilla, Erick Sherman, Q-tip and many others with that soulful, hard hitting, jazzy, melodic style of production.  

 

JustGrizz’s approach to production starts with keys and melodies, incorporating samples, NY Compression style drums, 808's and low frequency bass from dancehall and reggae music.
